Samsung PN42C450 Review: 42” Plasma HDTV
Up for Review: Samsung PN42C450 Plasma TV. The PN42C450 is marketed by Samsung as a part of its 42” Class 450 Series and as a model built under 720p Plasma HDTV. Even though the size of the screen is smaller in comparison to the other expensive models still it comes with a number of advanced features along with high quality audio, video and images.
This model comes with SRS TruSurround HD support which is an advanced audio enhancement for TVs. Also with this support the model provides 3D sound without plugging in any additional speakers. The TV also comes with built in bottom speakers to output the audio. With the bottom speakers the bass is enhanced by down firing with directing the low-end towards ground. These two features ensure that the TV provides high quality sound without the help of any additional enhancer or accessories.
Along with high quality audio, Samsung PN42C450 also provides picture and videos of high quality. This model includes an ultra clear panel which absorbs both the natural and mechanical light available in a room to reduce reflections. With reduced reflections this model provides more vibrant colors by deepening the blacks and enhancing the contrast. The mega dynamic contrast ratio used by the model provides crisp images with sharper details and thus make the scenes looking like popping off the screen.
The model uses 600Hz subfield motion which makes a single image flashing up to 600 times per second and thus creates high plasma TV like picture quality. Also irrespective of the speed of the image movement, the scrolling texts become sharper and moving images become crisper. The TV also uses light sensors which measures the intensity of the light available in the room and automatically adjusts the screen brightness accordingly.
